Hawkweed is for the type of despair caused by a lack of self-confidence. This is not the Blackthorn pit, but more a feeling of having lost touch with one’s original roots. There may be a feeling of being lost in a hellish alien world. Those with some religious beliefs could well feel that they have been damned and are now beyond redemption. In this state there is a sense of being a victim. Such pressures can cause a split in the psyche and an abrupt personality change. Hawkweed helps us to ease out of these depressive emotional states, allowing us to feel more at home in the world in which we live. In many ways it invites us to be reborn, with a greater sense of balance and wisdom.
